Aero’s download size follows its latest published release; other download sizes were read from each browser’s website on the measurement date.

Questions.

Is Aero free?

Yes, completely. Aero is open source, with no account and no subscription.

Is it built on Chromium?

No. Aero is built on WebKit, the engine already on your Mac. Websites work and look just as they do in Safari.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac with Apple silicon, from M1 onwards, running macOS 26 or later.

Can I bring my things from another browser?

Yes. The first time you open Aero, it offers to bring over your favorites, bookmarks, history and passwords from Arc, Chrome, Dia, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi or Safari. Your other browser stays exactly as it was.

Where are my passwords kept?

In your Mac’s keychain. They never leave your Mac, and you can export them whenever you like.

Does it sync between Macs?

No. Everything stays on your Mac.

How do updates work?

Aero downloads new versions quietly and installs them the next time you quit. You can turn this off in Settings.
